In support of the Black Lives Matter movement, Takashi Murakami has unveiled limited-edition prints featuring his iconic flower and skull motifs. All six black screen artworks have been signed and numbered by Murakami himself, and will be available to purchase via the NTWRK app sometime in July. The Japanese artist said in a statement:

“I have said that a role of an artist is to discern the present and express it for the future audience. But if my art can affect any change here and now, I want to contribute it not only to give back but to give power to the Black community plagued by the racial injustice.”

One hundred percent of the sales from this collection will be donated equally to U.S. organizations fighting for social justice and racial equality such as Black Lives Matter, Equal Justice Initiative and Color of Change. According to a press release, the prints are expected to raise over $1 million USD in charitable contributions.

Custom framed in a faux pitted iron shadowbox wood frame.  The artwork is suspended off the black rag platform with a 1/4” riser and protected with museum anti-reflection uv-filtering glass
