Inspired by the Arts and Crafts movement of the 19th and early 20th century and utilized in the construction of Mission style furniture. We employ various joinery techniques such as mortise and tenon, through-tenon, bridle-joint, and lap joint in the construction of these uniquely beautiful frames. In addition to Quartersawn White Oak, often we use other wood species when building Arts and Crafts picture frames, such as Fishtail Oak, Birdseye Maple, and Walnut.
